Pentire Point
A 5km walk along the coast path from New Polzeath to Pentire Point at the north westerly tip of the Camel estuary, taking in the Iron Age settlement and Lawrence Binyon plaque. Hilly but OK if taken steady.

An alternative route is to start from the Pentyre Glaze national trust car park and cafe.
Drive to New Polzeath via Wadebridge and park on the sea front or in the pay-and-display car park one block back from the front. Take the coast path north and keep going until you get to the point. Fabtastic views and pretty bracing in the wind. Keep following the path from there and visit the iron age site at the Rumps (having passed the plaque to mark the spot where Lawrence Binyon composed For the Fallen).

After the Rumps look for the footpath heading inland to Pentire Farm, from where a downhill path hedas back towards the start point. You rejoin the coast path near the place you started from.

You can leave the car here and walk into Polzeath (across the beach at low tide) for coffee or lunch etc.
