Places to drink and eat

In the busy season most places will require bookings for evening meals.  Even the pubs so a little advance planning is a good idea.

Upper end

- Seafood Restaurant  - on the harbour side by the main car park.  01841 532700

    - also, St Petrocs Bistro, Steins Cafe, Steins Seafood Bar and Steins Fish & Chips (although this probably isn't fine dining)

- No 6 - the only restaurant in town with a Michelin star.  On Middle St in the centre of town. 01841 532093 although I think they prefer you to make an internet booking.  Paul-ainsworth.co.uk

You probably get a better value meal at lunchtime at The Seafood.  food's the same but pricing is much more reasonable.  No 6 also used to do reduced price lunch menus but since Covid have stopped this.

- Prawn on the Lawn - Duke St.  01841 532223 . (They are also connected to Barnaby's Bistro on Duke St but that may now have closed.)

- Caffe Rojanos - By the Ship Inn.  01841 532796.  Pizza, pasta etc

Cally's Oyster Bar and Grill.  Next to The Old Custom House.  01841 532359.   Takes its name from The Caledonian pub which used to be on that site many years ago.

- Pucellis.  On the harbour side next to Choughs.  Upstairs above the chippy  01841 533313

- Embers.  Next to Boots.  Pizza place.  Lovely.  01841 533600

- Greens cafe.  Next to the crazy golf on the far side of the harbour as you follow the footpath out.

- Harbour Hotel.  Can't miss it.  Was the Metropole and recently refurbished.  Great views from the restaurant and bar.

- Burger and Fish.  on The Strand, near Choughs.  Upstairs.  01841 532884
